Don't forget the Fayette County Historical Society's May meeting is on Sunday the 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Margaret Mitchell Research Center, 195 Lee Street , Fayetteville . Our speaker will be Carole Marsh. She is the founder and CEO of an award-winning children's book publishing company, Gallopade International, headquartered in Peachtree City . The author of thousands of books (fiction and non-fiction), she has more than 25 pages of title listings in "Children's Books in Print". While most recognized by children for her Carole Marsh Real Kids! Real Places! Mysteries, all ages will be delighted by her books, especially those on Georgia . American Milestones and 1000 Biographies are among her curriculum series used in schools in Georgia and across the United States . Most recently, she is the creator and author of a 6-book series, The Student's Civil War, non-fiction, graphic novels created to coincide with the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War.
Carole is a Georgia native, born in Atlanta . She and her husband, Bob, are long-time residents of Peachtree City and members at PTC United Methodist Church .
I hope you'll join us to hear this special 2007 Georgia Author of the Year. She nominated again in 2011 for Georgia Author of the Year for her book Mary America: First Girl President of the United States.
